LOSI NASCAR RC RACING RULES
These rules are designed to make racing your Losi NASCAR RC car fun and fair. There are two classes, Box Stock and Modified, so everyone can race no matter their budget or experience.
GENERAL RULES (For Both Classes)
Be Safe: You are responsible for your car and equipment.
Transponders: You must have a race-legal personal transponder (like an Easylap) on your car.
Race Director: The Race Director's decision is final.
Sportsmanship: Bad behavior, like intentionally hitting other cars, blocking, or using foul language, can get you disqualified.
Inspection: Your car may be inspected before each race. The inspectors have the final say on whether your car is legal.
Battery Safety: You must charge all LiPo batteries in a LiPo-safe bag.
NASCAR BOX STOCK
This class is for beginners and is designed to be affordable. The goal is to race cars that are as close to factory-built as possible.
Chassis: Must be the stock Losi NASCAR chassis. You can't change the chassis plate, side guards, or shock towers.
Motor: Only the stock Losi 28T brushed motor is allowed. You can't modify or tamper with it.
ESC (Electronic Speed Controller): You must use the stock Losi brushed ESC. No aftermarket ESCs are allowed.
Battery: Any 2S LiPo battery is fine, but it can't be more than 2200mAh and must fit in the stock battery tray without any modifications.
Tires: Only licensed Losi NASCAR tires and wheels are allowed.
Gearing: You must use the stock gear combination (e.g., an 87T spur and 19T pinion). No other gears are allowed.
Shocks: You must use the stock plastic shocks. You can change the oil and springs to tune your car, but no aftermarket shocks are allowed.
Body: You must use an officially licensed NASCAR body. You can paint it, but all number decals must be on the car and easy to see. You can do some minor trimming to make the body fit on the posts.
Steering: You must use the stock servo saver and steering linkage. Aftermarket servos are allowed.
Weight: You can't add any extra weight to the chassis.
What You CAN'T Change
Any change not on the "Allowed" list is illegal.
Don't drill extra holes in the chassis or body, except for mounting a transponder.
Don't replace stock plastic parts with carbon fiber or aluminum parts.
Don't modify the stock motor or ESC.
Don't use any non-stock tires or wheels.
NASCAR MODIFIED
This class is for experienced racers who want to get the most performance out of their car. Almost anything is allowed, with a few safety and spirit-of-racing restrictions.
Chassis: Any Losi NASCAR chassis is allowed, and you can customize it.
Motor: Any 380-size brushed or brushless motor is allowed. There is no limit on turns.
ESC: Any ESC is allowed.
Battery: Any 2S LiPo battery is allowed, and you can modify the battery tray to fit larger ones.
Tires: Only licensed Losi NASCAR tires and wheels are allowed.
Gearing: Any gearing is allowed.
Shocks: Any shocks are allowed.
Body: You must use an officially licensed NASCAR body. No touring car or open-wheel bodies are allowed. Wings and spoilers are okay as long as they stay within the body's lines and don't stick out past the roof.
Steering: Any steering parts are allowed.
Weight: You can add extra weight to the chassis for tuning.
What You CAN'T Change
No modifications that create a safety hazard, like sharp edges or exposed wires.
The body must be a NASCAR-style body. No sports car, touring car, or open-wheel bodies.
You cannot use any form of traction control or gyro assistance, unless it's a standard feature of a legal ESC and cannot be disabled (the Race Director will make the final call).
